Empowering Next Generation Leaders in District 7090

What an incredible summer it has been for our youth! From building lifelong friendships across borders to discovering their true leadership potential, our participants have been making waves. 🗺️✨Check out some of our amazing students in action this summer:

Short-Term Youth Exchange (STEP): Discovering new cultures, stepping out of their comfort zones, and building global connections that will last a lifetime.
🔥 Junior RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards): Unleashing leadership potential, developing teamwork skills, and connecting with passionate peers at camp.
🤝 Interactive Youth Programs: Giving back to our local and global communities while developing skills for the future.

Imagine in the Park festival donates surplus children's books to local programs!

This year the Imagine in the Park children's arts festival celebrated its 15th Anniversary on June 5,6 at Hamilton's wonderful Gage Park. Every child attending left with a free book to take home. These books are generously donated by Scholastic Canada and The Children's Book Bank (Toronto). When the event is over there are often surplus books remaining.

Imagine in the Park is pleased to report that several cartons of books have now been donated to Munar Learning Centre. The Centre plans to use the books in their Literacy Program. Munar Learning Center is a grassroots organization established in 2018 to address issues faced by Somali refugee and immigrant families in our community. MLC’s focus is education because they believe that the number one indicator of academic success is the engagement of students and parents with schools and the education system. One of the things that the Centre does is is to inform, educate, and create bridges between Somali refugees and immigrant parents and the education system.

Books were also donated to two other local organizations.

Oh, What a Feeling! 40th Anniversary Ruby Gala a Success!

Liuna Station never looked so good! Entering Hamilton's premiere event centre you were first struck by the a big Rotary Wheel, a table of selected wines for the Wine Raffle and a lovely Silent Auction display. While browsing the auction, complimentary wine was served.

Soon the guests were invited into the Dining Room that looked Spectacular!

We were welcomed by a beaming Rotary Club of Hamilton AM President, John Mokrycke!

We owe a vote of thanks to the Event Co-Chair, Shikha Sareen, shown here with her husband Amit. The men know she was "the brains" behind this great evening!
